Re-Imagining Child Protection by Sharing Power and Shifting Mindsets - 4 Part Course
This online 4 part course will help each participant re-imagine child protection by centering families. It will equip child welfare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to collaborate effectively with vulnerable families. Family engagement is recognized as a key strategy for identifying and nurturing resilience as well as co-creating a safe and stable home environment. This training will focus on acknowledging the differential power dynamics and the ways to share that power with families, thereby highlighting their protective factors. Building strong, culturally sensitive relationships with families entering our system is emphasized, requiring self-awareness, cultural humility, and mutual trust. Each module will include handouts, a reference list and discussion questions.
